Andy Grolnick, President & CEO
Andy Grolnick brings over 25 years of experience growing high tech businesses, with executive leadership roles in Marketing, Product Development, Sales and General Management. His accomplishments include growing the Zip division of Iomega into a $1 billion entity in less than two years as its General Manager. Prior to LogRhythm, Grolnick was VP of Marketing and Sales at OpenLogic, where he was a member of the founding management team, and has held leadership roles at Quantum, Rivio and OnStream. He has a degree in Computer Science from Duke University and an MBA from the University of North Carolina.
Chris Petersen, CTO & Founder
Chris Petersen combines extensive industry experience in information assurance and network security with an innovative approach to technology that drives LogRhythm’s strategic vision of delivering the most comprehensive Log and Event Management solution on the market today. Petersen’s accomplishments include developing the Price Waterhouse Enterprise Security Architecture System as a Senior Consultant with the company (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers), leading an engineering group at Ernst & Young that produced one of the first managed security services as well as the leading information assurance portal eSecurityOnline. He was also a significant contributor in product management at Enterasys while helping to push the Dragon Intrusion Detection System into a market-leading position. He has served on the faculty of the Institute for Applied Network Security, has numerous speaking engagements at information security conferences and events, and is frequently quoted in industry leading publications. He holds a degree in Accounting/Information Systems from Colorado State University.
Phillip Villella, Ph.D. Chief Scientist & Founder
Dr. Phillip Villella brings a rich background in complex data analysis, software development and advanced physics to LogRhythm, applying his expertise with advanced analytics and mathematical simulations toward developing the next generation of Log and Event Management solutions. He has held research positions at the University of New Mexico Surface Physics Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory and the University of Colorado. A significant portion of Villella’s doctoral thesis involved designing and implementing software capable of performing high performance numerical simulations and advanced data analysis. Villella holds a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Colorado.
Preston Lawhorne, Vice President of Sales
Preston Lawhorne brings over 30 years of technology industry sales and management experience to LogRhythm. As vice president of North America sales for intrusion prevention system (IPS) vendor TippingPoint Technologies, he played a key role in the company’s rapid growth from $3M to $90M in just four years, including the addition of 3,600 new customers and 39 companies on the Fortune 100 list. Prior to TippingPoint Technologies, Preston was area vice president at Network Associates (now McAfee), where he led a team of 68 people in eight regions. Lawhorne has also held sales management and sales positions with Uplogix, Oracle Corporation, Memorex Telex Corporation, Stratus Computer, and Data General. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Education from Lynchburg College.
Mike Reagan, Vice President of Marketing & Business Development
Mike Reagan brings a successful track record in marketing, business development and sales management in the security, storage, networking and software industries spanning over 24 years. Before joining LogRhythm he was VP of Sales and Marketing at Vericept, where he was a member of the founding executive team. During his seven year tenure, he played a critical role in driving compound annual growth of over 90% and establishing the company as a market leader in Data Leak Prevention. Reagan has also held a variety of executive management positions in Sales, Marketing, Channels and Strategic Alliances at OnStream, Inc., Decisioneering, Inc. (now a division of Oracle) and EMC Corp. He holds a B.A degree from Providence College.
Mark Vellequette, Chief Financial Officer
Mark Vellequette has over 20 years experience leading financial and corporate operations at both private and public corporations. Vellequette has extensive expertise in private placement financing, initial public offerings, mergers/acquisitions/divestitures, strategic planning, operations management and international expansion. He has held the position of CFO at several companies, including Circle Graphics, Oxlo Systems, Rogue Wave Software and Syngistix Inc. As COO/CFO at bCandid Corp. Vellequette oversaw a 400% increase in revenue and delivered a 10x return to company investors in less than 18 months, through the sale of the company to Software.com. He holds a B.S. in Finance and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Ross Brewer, Vice President and Managing Director of International Markets
Ross Brewer brings to over 22 years of sales and management experience in high tech and information security. Prior to joining LogRhythm, he was a senior executive at LogLogic where he served as vice president and managing director of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Brewer has held senior management and sales positions in Europe for systems and security management vendor NetIQ and security vendor PentaSafe (acquired by NetIQ). He was also responsible for launching Symantec’s New Zealand Operations.
